Last year I was lucky enough to do brief test rides on both the CFMOTO 700 CLX Heritage and Sport. The first thing that surprised me was the finish of these bikes. CFMOTO have clearly gone to great lengths to deliver awesome quality products and evolve into a company that has left other Chinese manufacturers in its wake.

Having turned this corner, the factory is now producing motorcycles of unprecedented quality that are more than acceptable in an ever-tightening Australian market. That quality is now shining through with the introduction of the 800MT to Australia this year.

I was recently lucky enough to be lent this wonderful retro gem. Apart from being hurled back to my youth, when I spent my whole lunch break drooling over my woodwork teacher’s beautiful British twin in the carpark of my high school, this bike took me by surprise. It also got me thinking.
